Free founding list
There is no charge to join. There is nothing to refund for free-list membership. The free list provides launch notifications and product progress updates only. It does not lock the planned $29 Kickstarter launch price.
Optional $1 price reservation
The $1 price reservation is the same optional reservation throughout this site. It does not create a separate pricing tier.
After joining free, you may optionally pay $1 to hold one of 300 reservations of the planned $29 Kickstarter launch price. This $1 is not payment for the kit, not a deposit for the kit, not a subscription, and not a Kickstarter pledge. No kit ships after today’s $1.
How the $1 is refunded
- Before Kickstarter launches, if you change your mind, you may request a full refund of your $1. We process the refund to your original payment method.
- On Kickstarter you pay the reserved kit price of $29.
- After we confirm your backing on Kickstarter, we refund the $1 to your original payment method. You pay $29 on Kickstarter, not $28. This is processed by us after confirmation.
- We will also refund the $1 if the project is cancelled before launch or if we cannot provide the price reservation as described.
- If your original reservation promised a refund when Kickstarter opens, that promise still applies. Processing the refund by hand does not change the original timing or conditions.

Earlier reservations
Any benefits promised with an earlier reservation remain valid.
We will honor those promises under their original timing and conditions.
Kickstarter purchases
Purchases made on Kickstarter follow Kickstarter’s rules and the campaign’s stated policy at that time. The kit is paid on Kickstarter; not as part of today’s $1 price reservation.
